This is a lovely state park in Torrington, Connecticut where we used to go for picnics... 

a favorite place to take our grown children when they would come to visit!  The best time to go was in the fall and winter when we would have the park virtually to ourselves, except for the geese and squirrels and chipmunks and birds, of course!
